Alexander Geluk

He has performed as a conductor with, among others; Oostnederlands Kamer Orkest, Deventer Student Orchestra, Euregio Jugend Symphonie Orchester, Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, Twents Symfonie Orkest, Il Concerto Barocco, Kammersinfonieorchester Darmstadt, Continuo Rotterdam, Gelders Begeleidingsorkest, Royal Symphony Orchestra ‘Cecilia’ , Musica Silvestra Orchestra, Project Orchestra and Choir of Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Pro Musica Münster, Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands, Nederlands Begeleidingsorkest, Neue Ruhr Kammerphilharmonie, Bonner Operisten, Artez Conservatory Orchestra, Neue Ruhr Kammer Philharmonie and Dutch Touring Opera. 

Alexander Geluk studied orchestral conducting with Taijiro Iimori and cello with Robert Dispa at the Conservatories of Arnhem and Enschede where he graduated as a cellist and orchestra conductor. Earlier he already graduated as a choir conductor. His subsequent career was filled by conducting orchestras and choirs.

At present Alexander holds positions as principal or chief conductor with:  
Arnhem Oratorio ChoirOratoriochoir COV HilversumOost Gelders Symphony Orchestra.

Alexander Geluk was also engaged for six years as a regular guest conductor with the Beethoven Academy Orchestra (Krakow) and eight years as principal guest conductor with the Nairobi Orchestra. Besides conducting regular concerts in the Netherlands he also conducted in the Czech Republic, Spain, Poland, Germany, Kenya and Italy.

With Symfonia Jong Twente a ‘first prize with excellence’ was received in the Summa Cum Laude competition in Vienna.

In addition to conducting the mentioned ensembles Geluk also created several compositions. One particular composition of Alexander Geluk; the ‘Montferland Ballade’, was extremely well received both by the audience and the press.
